First critique here. It looks very flat. The shading is solely gradient, which doesn't look good. You may want to use greater contrast to add more depth and just better technique would be good. Try making a really good rough cell shade and going over it soft. The lines don't look very dynamic. You want that slim-thick line you know what I'm saying. Try tinkering with brush dynamics, try fade tapering if you have that setting. They should work even with mouse. You should really work at a higher resolution so it won't look so pixelated. The eyes have no pupils or highlights. Sometimes you can get away with that, but with this character's large eyes you need the highlights and pupils to add to the cute factor. It doesn't look attractive without it. I can't tell what this thing is. Is it a pig? You really need to convey your object to the viewer, and you learn to do that through study of realism. The background is very plain. I forget his name but some guy in the early animation industry said one should avoid symmetrical characters. I think you should take that advice, the symmetry of this piece makes it very boring to look at. You must keep the eye entertained.
